Online mediation for Utah
Work it out together, without the courtroom.
Most disagreements don't need a judge. They need a calm room and someone neutral to help both people feel heard. That's what we do, online, for founders, families, and everyday disputes across Utah.
A quick estimate
How much could mediation save you?
Three quick questions. You will see a rough comparison between the court route and a two hour mediation session.
How it works
Six steps, and most matters finish in one session.
Free consult
A short call to hear what is happening and see whether mediation fits. No cost, no obligation.
Prepare privately
Each of you shares your side with the mediator beforehand, so nobody walks in cold.
Meet online
One video session, about two hours, from wherever each of you is comfortable.
Stories and agenda
Both people say what matters to them, uninterrupted. Together we write the list of what to solve.
Work the options
We take the list one item at a time, including private conversations if that helps things move.
Leave with an agreement
What you decide gets written up and signed on the call, so the day ends with something real.
Why people choose mediation
You keep the decisions, and the relationship.
It costs less
One flat session instead of months of billable hours on each side.
You stay in control
No judge decides for you. Nothing is final until both of you agree to it.
It stays private
Court filings are public record. What happens in mediation is confidential.
You can keep talking
Co-founders, co-parents and neighbors still have a life together afterward. This protects that.
What we help with
Three kinds of rooms we hold.
Founders & startups
Co-founder splits, partnership terms, equity and vesting, IP and who owns what. Resolve it before it costs you the company.

Meet your mediator
David
Salt City Mediation is led by its founder, David. He builds software and is the founder of EmpathEase, an app for practicing empathy and Nonviolent Communication, and he's completing Utah's court mediation training.
The approach here is the same one behind EmpathEase: help each person feel understood first, then find the agreement. As your mediator, David stays neutral. He doesn't take sides, and he doesn't give legal advice. His only job is to help you both reach something you can live with.
